These violins are fairly common. The Louis Lowendall Co. was responsible for creating The Celebrated Conservatory Violin which was often stamped on the back of the pegbox where a section was left unfluted. I cannot say whether they were responsible for all of them or not but they are generally all similar in quality. Well made German workshop instruments.

I’ve seen countless pre-war Japanese made violins over the years but don’t recall ever seeing one as fine as this example. It is in excellent condition and was made from very good quality materials. Its sound is powerful and evenly balanced across the strings.

This Stradivari model German violin is in as-new condition and is constructed of very good quality materials. It has been professionally set up and does not require any work to be done.

This violin was made on the Stainer model using very plain wood. It has many old belly cracks that were repaired in a manner that is not conventional today. Rather than the cracks have been properly cleated, the entire belly has been reinforced with a large strip of linen and amazingly, none of the cracks have reopened.
This is a decent Stradivari model violin made from good quality woods. It has a nicely figured one-piece back with matching sides. The belly wood is of tight, even grained Spruce. It has been set up with boxwood fittings.

This violin was made c. 1960’s and was left in the white until more recently. It was hand-varnished by myself using commercial oil varnish and has been set up for optimal playability.

This long pattern violin is made from nice woods and is typical of student grade Saxon work of this time. The body length is 14 1/4″ however the string scale-length is a comfortable 326 mm. There are no upper corner blocks and the linings extend fully into the corners. This instrument is in a good state of preservation and is in optimal playing condition.

A 19th-century German workshop violin with a grafted scroll. This instrument has older belly crack repairs that have remained stable.
There is a cleated soundpost crack in the front and a grafted button which are reflected in the price. It is a good sounding instrument and is very playable.
